Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimbo Pepper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orlando Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orlando Boom is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimbo Pepper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orlando Boom!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pepper fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Boom connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pepper momentarily.


It looks like Jimbo Pepper has been cut.
Pepper with a poor takedown
enabling Boom to counter with a crisp jab.
Jimbo Pepper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pepper fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Boom avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimbo Pepper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pepper looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Boom is fending him off so far but Pepper persists. Nope, Boom circles away and we're back to standing.
A head kick by Pepper misses
and Boom counters with a nice leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boom stuns Pepper with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Pepper takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Pepper shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Boom is trying to defend but Pepper finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Boom wants to get back to full guard.
Boom gets back to full guard.
Pepper trying to control but Boom is working from the bottom.
Pepper lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Boom lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pepper!

A nice elbow there by Boom.
Boom misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Boom won't let Pepper get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Pepper wants to control but Boom is having none of it.
Boom throws some wild stikes that Pepper manages to avoid easily.
Boom postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pepper looks a forlorn figure.
Pepper sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pepper tries to get to full guard but Boom has control of the leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pepper avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Boom.
Boom has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Boom looking to finish with strikes here!
Pepper is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Pepper is looking to get to half guard.
Pepper tries to hold on but Boom pushes him away.
Boom trying to control but Pepper is having none of it.
Boom landing strikes from the mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pepper blocking the ground and pound.
Boom avoids the attempt from Pepper to control.
Pepper gets back to half guard.
Boom has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Boom sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Pepper defending well though.
Boom moves nicely into side control.

Boom is trying to get an arm triangle but Pepper is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pepper takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Orlando Boom dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jimbo Pepper's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Pepper shoots in looking for a takedown. Boom tries to sprawl out of it but Pepper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boom manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Pepper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Boom sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pepper somewhat.
Jimbo Pepper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Boom cracks Pepper with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Pepper looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Boom finish him?

Pepper closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Boom manages to get to full guard.
Pepper throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Pepper throws a big right hand that misses.
Pepper is looking to work some ground and pound but Boom has wrist control.
Pepper postures up in Boom's guard and throws a big left but Boom blocks it.
Boom looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pepper is one step ahead there.
Pepper throws a big right hand that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pepper missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Boom lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pepper!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pepper working to try and regain half guard.
Boom looking to ground and pound but Pepper is blocking nicely.
Boom thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Pepper sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boom throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Pepper keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Pepper makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pepper.

Pepper pushes Boom off and gets back to his feet.

Boom wants to improve his position but Pepper is controlling well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Orlando Boom showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pepper takes one on the button.
Boom leaves Pepper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Boom lands with a good body shot.
Nice shot by Boom.


Pepper is rocked!
Boom steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Pepper is out on his feet! Boom sets himself and nearly takes Pepper's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Orlando Boom!
