Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between joshua sanchez jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hickson Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think sanchez jr might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to go getta. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
sanchez jr shoots for a double leg takedown but Ray sprawls well. He's pushed sanchez jr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ray fails with the takedown

so sanchez jr counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
sanchez jr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ray on the ground.
Ray is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

sanchez jr gets to his feet. Ray looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ray misses with a takedown attempt

and sanchez jr counters by moving into the clinch.
sanchez jr gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ray.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

sanchez jr closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ray to the mat! Ray manages to get full guard.

sanchez jr stands and steps away. Ray gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

sanchez jr changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ray looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Ray is looking for a sweep.

sanchez jr decides to stand back up.

and sanchez jr counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ray!
Ray can't escape the position.

sanchez jr gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

and sanchez jr counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ray's guard now.
Ray wants to sweep but no luck.
sanchez jr is looking to stand up but Ray won't let him.

sanchez jr stands up and waves to Ray to follow him.

and sanchez jr counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ray wants to sweep but no luck.

sanchez jr gets to his feet - Ray follows without any prompting.
sanchez jr drops his hands momentarily and Ray takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

sanchez jr wants to stand up but Ray has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Ray wants to get back to full guard but sanchez jr has passed into side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ray tries to lock up and control but sanchez jr gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
