Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quan Chi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabricio Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Werdum has chosen Darude-Sandstorm as his entrance music. Fabricio Werdum has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chi misses with a two punch combination.

Oooooh!!! Chi has knocked Werdum down with a huge combo! Chi steps away and waves a wobbly Werdum back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Fabricio Werdum has been cut.
Chi moves in looking to clinch but Werdum pushes him off.
Chi wants to clinch.
Werdum wants to clinch

and Chi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Chi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Werdum tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chi swivels and escapes.
Werdum swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Werdum looks gassed!
Werdum keeps the fight on the outside.
Chi feints and then cracks Werdum's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Werdum down.
Chi lands a head kick. Werdum smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Chi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Chi manages to break the clinch.
Werdum tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Chi counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Werdum badly! He tries to strike back but Chi puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Werdum out cold! Oh man, Werdum will never hear the end of this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Quan Chi!
Quan Chi is the new light heavyweight champion!
