Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dodong Angas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angas has chosen Paint in Black as his entrance music. Dodong Angas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves walks into a jab.

It looks like Mauricio Alves has been cut.
A jab from Alves misses.
Alves throws a hook but Angas avoids it easily.
Angas swinging wildly here.
Alves throws a right and a left that both miss.
Alves throws a series of punches but Angas avoids them all with ease.
Alves scores with a decent looking hook.
Alves shoots in for a double leg but Angas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Alves takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alves misses with a body shot.

Angas gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Angas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Angas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alves moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alves fails in his attempt to clinch.

Alves connects with a jab.
The fighters circle momentarily. Angas darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Angas closes the distance and clinches.

Angas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Angas moves into range and clinches up with Alves.
Alves creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Angas tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Alves smiles and moves away.
Nice sprawl there from Alves as Angas shoots in.
Alves misses the jab.

Angas shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Alves napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Angas decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Alves connects with a right hand. Angas shakes it off.
Alves scores with a hook to the body. Angas takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Alves connects with a body shot that sends Angas's belly button to the back.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alves throws a left and a right that both miss

and Angas counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Alves pushes Angas off looking to stand but Angas dives back in and keeps control.
Angas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Angas decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Alves connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Angas momentarily.
Alves scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Angas misses with a series of wild punches.
Angas looks gassed!
Angas takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Angas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Alves connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alves cracks Angas with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Alves throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Angas tries to close the distance and clinch but Alves swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Alves takes a swing at Angas's ribcage but misses.
Alves swings for the body but Angas moves out of range.
Angas avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Angas falls off balance throwing a combination
and Alves counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Angas dips to his left and cracks Alves with an uppercut!

Mauricio Alves's cut is getting worse.
A jab from Alves finds it's way through Angas's defenses.

Angas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Angas with the ground and pound but Alves regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

Angas stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Alves tries to keep at a distance but Angas has taken the fight into the clinch.

Angas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Angas takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Angas misses with a body shot.
Alves throws a shot to the body.
Angas tries to close the distance and clinch but Alves swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Alves thows a body shot but no joy.
Alves lands a nice looking body shot.
Angas misses with a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dodong Angas will probably get the nod.

That's time! Alves's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Alves tries to clinch there but Angas circles away.
Alves misses with a body shot.
Dodong Angas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Alves lands a glancing blow to the side of Angas's head.

Angas is rocked!
Angas drops his hands momentarily. Alves doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Angas staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Angas doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
