Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonah Takalua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Choi Siwon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takalua stuffs the takedown.
Takalua throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Siwon.
Siwon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Takalua counters with a nice low kick that buckles Siwon's knee momentarily.
Takalua fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Siwon takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Siwon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Takalua wants to get back to his feet.
Siwon wants to control the pace but Takalua is squirming around nicely.

Siwon is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Takalua can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Siwon trying to control but Takalua is having none of it.

Takalua is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Siwon looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Siwon wants to finish this one by submission but Takalua is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Siwon.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Siwon is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Takalua throws a sloppy head kick and Siwon moves out of range easily.

Siwon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Takalua counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

A right-left combo lands from Takalua.
Takalua throws a series of punches but Siwon avoids them all with ease.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Siwon checks a leg kick.
Siwon has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Takalua.
An inside leg kick from Takalua misses.
Takalua throws a push kick but Siwon slaps the foot to one side.

and Siwon counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Siwon is working for a submission of some sort.
Siwon is trying to control the action in half guard but Takalua is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Takalua wants to get back to his feet.

Siwon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Takalua doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Siwon.

Siwon is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Takalua defends it well.
Siwon prevents Takalua from standing back up.

Choi Siwon dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Siwon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Takalua does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Takalua knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Siwon on the ground.

Siwon in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Takalua tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Siwon!
