The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Poppe shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Poppe showed some decent athleticism there.

Poppe is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jingler has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Poppe is working away from the top position though.
Jingler is pressing down on Poppe's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Poppe wants to pass the guard but Jingler is keeping the position.
Jingler really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Poppe is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jingler not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

We're going to have a standup here because Alistar Jingler wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Jingler has his takedown stuffed

and Poppe counters with a shoot takedown. Jingler fights it but they end up in guard.
Poppe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jingler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jingler is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jingler throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Poppe is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Jingler has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Poppe is tapping! This fight is all over!
