The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gudii decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Core looking for submissions off his back.

Core is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gudii pulls his head out easily.
Core trying to control but Gudii postures up.
Core tries to roll over but Gudii keeps him under control.
Core is trying to maintain the position but Gudii is very close to passing his half guard.

Gudii is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gudii missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Gudii is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Gudii is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Core has managed to free his arm - good work.
Gudii seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Core does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Core lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.
Core scores with a few weak punches.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Core is pressing down on Gudii's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Core working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gudii doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gudii manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Core is breathing heavily.
Core utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Core is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gudii defends well.

and Gudii takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Gudii escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Core gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gudii is looking to stand up but Core isn't so interested in that idea.
Core slips nicely into half guard.
Gudii looks like he's trying to stand up.

Core is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Gudii is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
