Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dexter Hector!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hector drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Mendez keeping moving, preventing Hector from controlling successfully.

It looks like Rob Mendez has been cut.

Mendez regains half guard there - taking advantage of Hector's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Still in half guard, Hector seems content to control.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hector lands a nice short elbow.
Hector thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mendez's head.

Hector is nestled in close to Mendez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Mendez is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hector scores with a couple of nice shots.

Hector looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mendez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Mendez wants to control but Hector is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Hector seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mendez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
