The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones connects with a nice looking jab.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Derzkiy shoots and misses
and Jones counters with a three punch combo that has Derzkiy backing up. Derzkiy nods at Jones to acknowledge the strikes.
Jones comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Derzkiy.

Jon Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Derzkiy looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Jones throws a series of punches but Derzkiy avoids them all with ease.
Jones scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Jones stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jones connects with a combination that backs up Derzkiy into the cage. Jones lands a flurry of punches that gets past Derzkiy's guard. Derzkiy is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Jones bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
