The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture looks to clinch

West is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Couture digs a right hand into West's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on West's gas tank.

Couture breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Couture ducks down and throws a hook to the body but West moves away.
Couture dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Couture fails with an attempt to clinch.
West avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
West fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Couture manages to avoid it.
West stuffs the takedown attempt from Couture. Couture gets slowly back to his feet.

Couture wants to clinch up but West keeps it at a distance.
West throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
West moves out of range of the strikes.

West clinches.
West tries to land knees in the clinch but Couture avoids the damage to the body.

Couture manages to break the clinch.
Couture comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

West tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Couture avoids it.
