The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rock looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Rock throws a push kick but Romero slaps the foot to one side.
Rock darts in trying to clinch
and Rock takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rock tries to clinch but Romero moves away
and Romero counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Elijah Rock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rock fails with the takedown
and Romero cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Romero moves forwards but Rock connects with a nice, crisp jab.

It looks like George Romero has been cut.

Rock ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Rock shoots and misses
and Romero counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A combination from Rock does no damage.
Rock with a lazy takedown attempt
and Rock takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elijah Rock. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rock lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Romero backs up against the cage.
Rock closes the distance looking to clinch
and Romero counters with a lovely straight right hand!

A good leg kick by Rock.
Rock lands a nice looking body shot.
Romero looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rock slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Rock fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Romero looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Rock tries to clinch but Romero moves out of range.
Rock tries to close the distance and clinch but Romero swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Romero gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Romero tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Rock is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Romero buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Romero!! Romero is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Rock throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
