Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Oliveira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dark Matter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Oliveira has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Oliveira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dark Matter!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira with a lazy takedown attempt
and Matter counters with a straight right hand.
Matter looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Matter with a poor takedown

and Oliveira decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Matter's guard.
Oliveira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Matter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Oliveira forces his way into half guard.

Oliveira wants to work for an arm triangle but Matter is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Oliveira is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Matter sees it coming and defends easily.
Oliveira is keen to just control but Matter is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oliveira content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oliveira frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Oliveira is working for a guillotine from mount but Matter frees his head quite easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Matter tries to reverse the position but Oliveira maintains control.
Oliveira trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Oliveira wants to finish this one by submission but Matter is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Oliveira.
Oliveira throwing strikes here but Matter is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Oliveira thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Matter tries to hold on but Oliveira pushes him away.

Oliveira goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Matter is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Oliveira has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Matter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Matter wants to control from the top but Oliveira keeps moving.

Matter drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Matter seems to have locked his on tight now - Oliveira screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Matter, as he picks up the win!
