The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maniac rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Soderstrom moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Maniac throws a leg kick but Soderstrom sees it coming and moves out of range.

and Maniac decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Soderstrom's guard.
Maniac chips away with some ground and pound.
Maniac postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Soderstrom on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Soderstrom tries to get out of the position.
Soderstrom has momentary wrist control but Maniac slips an elbow through the middle.
