PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Good Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Cicero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Day comes into the arena with Hifana - Wamono blaring out of the sound system. Cicero is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Woke Up This Morning . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day misses with a low kick.
Cicero connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Day throws a quick inside leg kick.
Day throws a sloppy body shot
and Cicero counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Day misses with an uppercut. Cicero saw that one coming.
Cicero misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Day counters with a stiff right hand.
Paul Cicero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cicero swats away the attempt to clinch by Day.
Day drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Day steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Cicero. That one must have hurt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cicero accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
