Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Masterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Hugh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masterson comes to the cage accompanied by Stinkfist. Jacob Hugh has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hugh fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Masterson, pushing him back against the cage.

Masterson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hugh has a takedown stuffed.

Masterson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Masterson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hugh has a closed guard, preventing Masterson from standing up.
Hugh looking to control but Masterson passes into half guard.
Masterson tries to pass to full mount but Hugh defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Masterson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Hugh shoots and misses

and Masterson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Masterson.

Masterson breaks from the clinch.

Masterson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Hugh looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Masterson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hugh on the ground.

Masterson decides to stand up.

Hugh clinches up with Masterson and pushes him back against the cage.
Hugh goes for a takedown attempt but Masterson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Bruno Masterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Hugh.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Masterson!

It looks like Jacob Hugh has been cut.
Hugh looks gassed!

Hugh tries to keep at a distance but Masterson has taken the fight into the clinch.

Masterson breaks from the clinch.

Masterson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hugh to the mat! Hugh manages to get full guard.
Masterson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Masterson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hugh, up you get!

Masterson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hugh should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Masterson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hugh shoots and misses

so Masterson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hugh wants to sweep here but Masterson controlling him for the moment.
Hugh is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Hugh has his foot on Masterson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Masterson works his way back into a safe position though.
Masterson wants to stand and escape but instead Hugh has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Hugh escapes and gets back to his feet.
Hugh misses with a takedown attempt

and Masterson counters by moving into the clinch.

Masterson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hugh tries to clinch up but Masterson circles away and keeps his distance.

Masterson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hugh looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hugh tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Masterson decides to stand back up.
Masterson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hugh stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Masterson lands with a right and another and another! Hugh is in big trouble! Masterson lands again and this time it's lights out for Hugh! A quality knockout there for Masterson.
