PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Genko Humin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rudimar Fedrigo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Humin comes to the cage accompanied by Raining Blood. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Genko Humin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rudimar Fedrigo!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fedrigo throws a head kick but Humin moves out of range.
Fedrigo throws a head kick that half lands.
Fedrigo blocks a head kick by Humin.

Humin shoots in and bounces Fedrigo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fedrigo wants to sweep here but Humin controlling him for the moment.
Humin throwing strikes from guard but Fedrigo blocks nicely.
Fedrigo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Humin's guard.

Humin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Fedrigo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Humin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Fedrigo's back instead.
You can see the frustration on Fedrigo's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Fedrigo manages to reverse the position and now he's in Humin's guard. Nice work there by Fedrigo.
Fedrigo is looking to advance position but Humin has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Humin misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Humin prevents Fedrigo from getting the reversal.
Humin sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Fedrigo tries to hold on but Humin pushes him away.

Humin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Fedrigo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Humin could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Humin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fedrigo is looking to escape.

Fedrigo is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Humin pulls his head out easily.

Humin gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Humin clinches up with Fedrigo and pushes him back against the cage.

Humin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Humin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Humin connects with a nasty looking knee right to Fedrigo's face.
Humin gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Fedrigo.

Humin successfully pulls guard.
Fedrigo trying to control but Humin is working from the bottom.
Fedrigo is pushing down on Humin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Humin is fighting to maintain full guard but Fedrigo has managed to sneak the leg through.
Fedrigo is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Fedrigo throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Humin because Fedrigo loaded up on that one.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Humin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Humin lands in his opponent's guard.
Fedrigo wants to sweep here but Humin controlling him for the moment.

Fedrigo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Humin stacks Fedrigo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Humin!

Humin winds up and cracks Fedrigo with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Humin remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Humin has control of Fedrigo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fedrigo regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Genko Humin.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Humin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
