Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pumba Ottavainen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Frank Angel!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ottavainen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Angel moves out of range of the strikes.
Angel throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Angel misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ottavainen throws a leg kick but Angel checks it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ottavainen. Angel does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ottavainen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pumba Ottavainen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Angel.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ottavainen throws a half hearted mid kick.
Ottavainen looks to land a left hand but Angel moved out of range nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ottavainen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Ottavainen bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Angel's head.
Ottavainen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Angel.
Angel shoots in and drives through. Ottavainen sprawls well.
Angel checks the leg kick.
Angel swats away the attempt to clinch by Ottavainen.
Ottavainen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Angel doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ottavainen counters with a left to the body.
Angel changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ottavainen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Angel is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ottavainen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Ottavainen pushes Angel away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Angel gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Angel swings around for an armbar but Ottavainen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Angel's guard.
Ottavainen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Angel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ottavainen has managed to get both his arms back between Angel's legs - danger averted.
Angel wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ottavainen postures up.
Ottavainen wants to stand but Angel has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Angel has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Ottavainen doesn't defend quickly enough and Angel has managed to lock this one up! Can Ottavainen escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Angel on a fantastic submission victory.
