Sarmiento takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Sarmiento tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Thompson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Thompson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sarmiento.
Thompson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sarmiento tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Thompson is in Sarmiento's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Thompson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sarmiento, up you get!

Thompson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sarmiento was covering up waiting for the punch and Thompson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Sarmiento wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Thompson is now in half guard.
Still in half guard, Thompson seems content to control.
Thompson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sarmiento gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Thompson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sarmiento is working an open guard so Thompson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Thompson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sarmiento tries to avoid it but Thompson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sarmiento to the ground. Sarmiento escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Micky Thompson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Thompson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
