The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsumoto misses with an uppercut. Grzyb saw that one coming.
A head kick misses from Grzyb.

Grzyb gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Matsumoto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Makao Matsumoto has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Matsumoto throws out a loose jab but Grzyb uses good head movement to avoid it.

Matsumoto shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Matsumoto showed some decent athleticism there.

Matsumoto is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Grzyb is just riding it out for now. Matsumoto eventually gives up the hold.

Matsumoto lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Grzyb is still in real trouble! Can Matsumoto finish him?
Matsumoto fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Matsumoto is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Matsumoto extends the arm and Grzyb is forced to tap!
