Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sarayoot Winothai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Remigijus Norkevicius!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norkevicius shoots in and drives through. Winothai sprawls well.
Winothai scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Norkevicius drives through and clinches with Winothai against the cage.
Winothai wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Winothai tries to break the clinch but Norkevicius is controlling the position.
Winothai wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Norkevicius decides to pull guard.
Norkevicius has control of Winothai's left arm, preventing Winothai from doing any damage.
Winothai is looking to stand up but Norkevicius won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Norkevicius is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Remigijus Norkevicius hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Norkevicius forces Winothai back against the cage and clinches.
Norkevicius's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Norkevicius goes for a takedown attempt but Winothai pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Winothai wants to clinch up but Norkevicius keeps it at a distance.

and Winothai makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Norkevicius really felt that one!
Winothai is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Norkevicius counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Winothai wants to stand and escape but Norkevicius is having none of it.

Norkevicius's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Let's hope that Norkevicius has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Remigijus Norkevicius was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Norkevicius shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Norkevicius throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Norkevicius gets tackled into the cage by Winothai. Winothai maintains the clinch.
Norkevicius tries to break the clinch but Winothai is controlling the position.
Winothai wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Winothai is trying to maintain a safe position but Norkevicius gets an underhook and turns Winothai into the cage.
Winothai is pressed up against the cage. Norkevicius has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Winothai down to the mat. Winothai avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Winothai tries to clinch up but Norkevicius circles away and keeps his distance.
Winothai bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Norkevicius's head backwards.
Norkevicius blocks a head kick by Winothai.
Winothai tries to close the distance and clinch up but Norkevicius swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Norkevicius misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Norkevicius misses with a body shot
and Winothai counters with a low kick, right behind Norkevicius 's knee.
Winothai moves in looking to clinch but Norkevicius pushes him off.

Winothai closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Winothai tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Remigijus Norkevicius will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Winothai keeps the fight on the outside.
Norkevicius will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Norkevicius takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Sarayoot Winothai is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Winothai tries to clinch but Norkevicius is having none of it.
Norkevicius shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Winothai pinned against the cage. Winothai gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Winothai wants to get back to his feet but Norkevicius is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Winothai throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Norkevicius postures up in Winothai's guard and throws a big left but Winothai blocks it.
Winothai knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Norkevicius on the ground.

Norkevicius decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Winothai, up you get!

so Norkevicius counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Norkevicius looking to pass the guard.
Winothai is wriggling around but Norkevicius manages to pass to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Norkevicius uses his free foot to push down on Winothai's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Winothai.

Norkevicius wants to finish this one by submission but Winothai is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Norkevicius.

Remigijus Norkevicius showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Winothai enables Norkevicius to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Winothai manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Winothai is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Norkevicius is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Norkevicius stands up and waves to Winothai to follow him.
Sarayoot Winothai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Norkevicius tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Norkevicius has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Remigijus Norkevicius is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Norkevicius stands up and beckons Winothai to join him on the feet.
