PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cody Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quik Yin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yin has chosen I Got A Feeling (lol :P) as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
18 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quik Yin!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee feints and then cracks Yin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Yin down.
Lee tries a head kick but it misses.
Lee swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Yin takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Lee misses the shot to the body.
Lee swats away the attempt to clinch by Yin.
Yin checks a low kick from Lee.
Yin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Lee lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Lee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Yin.
Yin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lee napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lee parries the strikes from Yin easily there. Yin is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lee to escape.
Lee manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Yin wants to sweep but Lee has passed to side control!
Yin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters are battling for position here. Yin manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Lee is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Yin has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Lee is looking to defend but Yin has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Lee! Yin pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Lee taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Quik Yin!
