Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danilo Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Floyd Purell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Floyd Purell told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Purell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alves moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Purell throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alves throws a series of punches but Purell moves out of range.
Alves connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Alves throws a nice looking combination but Purell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Alves darts in and clinches Purell up against the cage.
Alves lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Purell.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Alves.
Alves lands a right hand.
Alves pushes Purell back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Purell looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alves lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Purell is trying to break the clinch but Alves is controlling him.
Alves lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Purell backwards.
Alves pushes Purell back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Alves lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Floyd Purell has been cut.
Alves lands with a short shot to the head.
Alves breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Floyd Purell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alves throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Purell colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Alves as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Purell is left battered and dazed whilst Alves and his camp cheer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Danilo Alves!
