Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Estoban Valquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Gaven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gaven tries to keep at a distance but Valquez has taken the fight into the clinch.
Gaven looking to stall.
Gaven takes a knee right on the jaw!

It looks like Eddie Gaven has been cut.
Gaven tries to break the clinch but Valquez is controlling the position.

Gaven lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Valquez.

Valquez lands an elbow just above Gaven 's eye.
Gaven wants to get back to striking at distance but Valquez won't allow it.

Gaven tries to work over Valquez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gaven creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Valquez won't allow Gaven to get back to his feet.
Valquez controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Valquez creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Gaven sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gaven is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Valquez has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Valquez decides to stand back up. Valquez steps back and let's Gaven get back to his feet.
Valquez tries to clinch up but Gaven circles away and keeps his distance.
Valquez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gaven paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Valquez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gaven misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Valquez moves into the clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Valquez lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Gaven has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Gaven tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Gaven wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Valquez has him pressed against the cage.

That has opened up Eddie Gaven's cut even more.
Gaven tries to break the clinch but Valquez is controlling the position.
Valquez is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

The cut above Eddie Gaven's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Eddie Gaven's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
