The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from Avalon misses
and Grzmotojad counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Grzmotojad.
Grzmotojad thows a big elbow that misses.
Grzmotojad throws a strike but Avalon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Grzmotojad wants to stand and escape but Avalon is having none of it.
Grzmotojad trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Avalon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Grzmotojad is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grzmotojad is looking to stand up but Avalon isn't so interested in that idea.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Grzmotojad holds on and takes a little breather.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Avalon jabs Grzmotojad to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Avalon misses with a wild body shot.
Avalon lands a right hook to the body.
Grzmotojad is breathing heavily.
Grzmotojad dives in and grabs Avalon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Avalon pushes down on Grzmotojad's head and hops out.
Avalon looks to land a combination but Grzmotojad avoids it well.
No joy there for Avalon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Avalon clobbers Grzmotojad with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Avalon lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Mieszko Grzmotojad has been cut.

A left lands for Avalon.
Avalon throws a series of punches but Grzmotojad moves out of range.
Avalon slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Grzmotojad gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Avalon throws a right and a left that Grzmotojad avoids nicely.
Grzmotojad shoots in looking for a takedown but Avalon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Grzmotojad's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A combination from Avalon does no damage.
Avalon takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Avalon lands a nice hook to Grzmotojad's body. Grzmotojad takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Grzmotojad shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Mieszko Grzmotojad's cut is getting worse.
Avalon lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Avalon lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Grzmotojad is rocked!

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Avalon has cracked Grzmotojad with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Avalon lands another huge swinging hook and Grzmotojad tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Grzmotojad, before Avalon can land any more shots!
