The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nick fails to land with a series of punches.
Putin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Putin tries to clinch but Nick moves away
and Nick counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nick.
Putin lands a body punch in the clinch.
Nick misses with a short punch on the inside.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Putin.
Nick tries to break the clinch but Putin is controlling the position.
Putin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nick is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Nick really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Putin lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes.
Putin lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Nick backwards.
Nick has Putin pressed against the ropes, preventing Putin from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Nick breaks the clinch.
Putin fails to land the takedown.
Putin tries to bum rush Nick with a series of wild strikes but Nick uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Putin feints and as Nick raises his hands in defense, Putin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Putin thows a big elbow that misses.
Putin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nick is keeping the position for now.
Putin throws a sloppy strike and Nick has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Putin is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Nick!
