Andrei has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Nikolai Andrei has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Knute Rockne's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockne throws a sloppy head kick
and Andrei counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Andrei looks gassed!
Rockne throws a sloppy head kick and Andrei moves out of range easily.
Rockne with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Rockne pushes Andrei up against the ropes in a clinch.
Rockne landing knees to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rockne throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Andreis head.

That has opened up Nikolai Andrei's cut even more.
Rockne has Andrei pushed against the ropes.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Rockne.
Rockne gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

The cut above Nikolai Andrei's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Andrei takes an elbow to the forehead.

Nikolai Andrei's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Rockne's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rockne throws a head kick that misses.

Rockne lands a big head kick that sends Andrei tumbling to the mat! Rockne takes a step backwards and waves Andrei back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Nikolai Andrei's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
