Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Perlito Calzada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Salvador Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves has chosen Mama said "Knock You Out" as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Calzada throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alves on the side of the head.
Alves keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Alves uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Calzada.
Alves takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Alves throws a body punch but Calzada moves out of range.
Calzada throws a leg kick but Alves sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Calzada scores with a hook to the body. Alves takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Alves looks to score with a jab to the body but Calzada is just out of range.

Alves closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Calzada wants to control but Alves is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A close round but Salvador Alves will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Calzada scores with a jab. Alves acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Calzada is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
