The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desouza misses the body punch

and Volkov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Desouza tries to roll over but Volkov keeps him under control.
Desouza manages to get to full guard.
Desouza tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Desouza had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Volkov defends it easily.

Desouza looking for subs off his back but Volkov has passed one foot through into half guard.

Desouza has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Volkov is working away from the top position though.
