Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joao Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Sotomayor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes to the ring accompanied by Carl Orff - Carmina Burana - André Rieu's version. Sotomayor has chosen Enter Sandman - Metallica as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sotomayor shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Sotomayor lands a couple of digs.
Sotomayor advances position into side control!

Sotomayor is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alves is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Sotomayor is looking to take a break and control but Alves is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Alves tries to buck Sotomayor off but Sotomayor is having none of it.

Sotomayor tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Sotomayor wants to control for a moment but Alves uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Sotomayor is looking for submissions but instead, Alves has regained full guard.

Sotomayor drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Alves dives on top into guard.
Alves throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Sotomayor throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Alves escapes and throws Sotomayor's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Alves has control of an arm but Sotomayor manages to advance to Alves's back!

Sotomayor is hanging on to Alves's back as he tries to escape.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sotomayor lands with a hammerfist to the side of Alves's head.
Sotomayor gets his hands free as Alves looks to control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Alves tries to roll but Sotomayor sticks to his back.

Sotomayor has got one arm under Alves's chin. This could be trouble... Alves trying to control the other hand but Sotomayor gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Alves has tapped out! The fight is over!
