PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Milo Papi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Papi comes to the cage accompanied by IZ ON. Stout comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Back in Black - AC/DC kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Papi tries a head kick but it misses.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sam Stout hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Stout throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A bone on bone clash there as Stout blocks the leg kick.
Stout throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Papi.
Papi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stout avoids it really well and circles away.

Papi breaks from Stout's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Papi cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Papi thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Papi sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Stout has momentary wrist control but Papi slips an elbow through the middle.
Stout bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Papi's guard.

Papi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stout swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Papi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stout is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Stout looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Papi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stout tries to avoid it but Papi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stout to the ground. Stout escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Papi tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Stout is able to avoid easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Stout enables Papi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stout manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We're going to have a standup here because Milo Papi wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Papi shoots in and bounces Stout off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Stout can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Papi controls the pace.
