Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Tham Boon Yodsuwan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Nate Sorenson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yodsuwan swings widly with a right hand
and Sorenson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Yodsuwan keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Yodsuwan misses with a body kick.
Yodsuwan throws a series of punches but Sorenson avoids them all with ease.
Sorenson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Yodsuwan defends it nicely.

Tham Boon Yodsuwan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Sorenson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and Sorenson counters by clinching up.
Yodsuwan has Sorenson pressed against the cage.

Yodsuwan swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Yodsuwan dodges an elbow strike from Sorenson.
Yodsuwan is pressed up against the cage. Sorenson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Yodsuwan down to the mat. Yodsuwan avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Tham Boon Yodsuwan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Sorenson.
Yodsuwan wants to clinch

and Sorenson counters with a single leg into guard. Yodsuwan didn't expect that.
Sorenson won't allow Yodsuwan to sweep him here.

Yodsuwan pushes Sorenson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Sorenson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Yodsuwan on his heels. He'll look to pass Yodsuwan's guard now, I'm sure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sorenson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Yodsuwan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Yodsuwan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Sorenson stands up from Yodsuwan's guard - Sorenson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Yodsuwan tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Yodsuwan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yodsuwan tries to clinch but Sorenson moves away

and Sorenson counters with a shoot takedown. Yodsuwan fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Yodsuwan is working an open guard so Sorenson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Yodsuwan wants to clinch but Sorenson slips to the side

and Sorenson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Sorenson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Yodsuwan regains guard.
Yodsuwan wants to stand and escape but Sorenson is having none of it.
Sorenson is looking to work some ground and pound but Yodsuwan has wrist control.
Sorenson trying to control the position from guard on top but Yodsuwan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sorenson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Yodsuwan wants to stand and escape but Sorenson is having none of it.
Yodsuwan is breathing heavily.

Yodsuwan is working an open guard so Sorenson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Yodsuwan tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Sorenson finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Yodsuwan tries to clinch but Sorenson moves away
and Sorenson counters with a left to the body.

Yodsuwan clinches.

Sorenson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Sorenson thows a huge punch but Yodsuwan dodges it nicely.

Yodsuwan looking for submissions off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Yodsuwan is looking to escape.
Sorenson is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Sorenson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Yodsuwan on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sorenson is trying to control the action in half guard but Yodsuwan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Sorenson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yodsuwan is just riding it out for now. Sorenson eventually gives up the hold.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nate Sorenson dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Sorenson counters with a nice body kick.
Yodsuwan throws a head kick that misses.
Yodsuwan misses with a left hand

and Sorenson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Yodsuwan's guard now.

Yodsuwan has his foot on Sorenson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sorenson works his way back into a safe position though.

Yodsuwan looking for subs off his back but Sorenson has passed one foot through into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sorenson is trying to control the action in half guard but Yodsuwan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Sorenson is nestled in close to Yodsuwan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Sorenson is trying for a kimura here. Yodsuwan looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Sorenson wins by kimura!
