Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matt Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jackson tries to roll over but Johnson keeps him under control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Johnson is trying to control. Jackson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Johnson moves nicely into side control.
Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jackson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Johnson wants to get back to full guard but Jackson has passed into side control.

Johnson is looking to control Jackson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Johnson avoid being mounted?

Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Johnson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jackson stacks Johnson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jackson!

Jackson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Johnson, who protects the arm well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johnson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Robert Johnson.
Well Johnson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
