Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Don Frye!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Craig Patton!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frye clinches.
A nice left hand lands by Frye.
Frye tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Frye tries for a takedown but Patton manages to get underhooks.

Patton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Patton pushes Frye off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Patton takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Frye is squirming around, avoiding Patton's attempts to control the action.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Patton lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Craig Patton hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Patton dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Frye. That did some damage!

Patton closes the distance and clinches.
Frye tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Patton just stands there and leans against the cage.

Patton jumps into guard, dragging Frye to the mat.
Frye is looking to work some ground and pound but Patton has wrist control.
Patton bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Frye's guard.

Craig Patton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Patton smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Frye fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sloppy strikes from Patton. Those never looked like landing.
Frye shoots in but Patton avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Patton shoots in looking for a takedown but Frye manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Patton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Patton looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Don Frye has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Patton shoots for a takedown but Frye saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Well Patton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
