The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyoraku will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

It looks like Clarkson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

and Clarkson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kyoraku's guard now.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Clarkson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Clarkson is taking a breather. Kyoraku says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ryan Clarkson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Clarkson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kyoraku tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Clarkson is in Kyoraku's guard.
