PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mick Trout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dale McLean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLean has chosen Represent- (hed)pe as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mick Trout!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dale McLean!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McLean drives through and clinches with Trout against the cage.

McLean has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Trout regains guard immediately.

McLean thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
McLean trying to stand up but can't free himself from Trout's guard.

Trout is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McLean defends well.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Trout tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McLean has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Trout is proving hard to escape from.

McLean got a little sloppy there for a moment and Trout has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McLean has managed to get both his arms back between Trout's legs - danger averted.
McLean wanted to stand there but Trout had control of the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trout looking for a guillotine here but McLean defends easily.
Trout wants to sweep here but McLean controlling him for the moment.

Trout is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McLean is aware though and is defending well.
Trout lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McLean!
McLean tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Trout goes for an armbar but he's not got it… McLean turns into him and now he's in Trout's guard.

Trout is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McLean is aware though and is defending well.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Trout has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McLean can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

McLean wants to stand but Trout has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Trout is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Trout seems to be working for a kimura but McLean defends the submission attempt.

McLean is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Trout wants to work for an arm triangle but McLean is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
McLean is looking to improve his position.
McLean is looking to control Trout's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McLean avoid being mounted?
McLean looks gassed!

Trout is working for a kimura but McLean is defending it quite comfortably.
Trout not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

McLean taking some punishment here, with Trout in his half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trout has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Trout landing strikes, looking to finish!
McLean takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Trout is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, McLean has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The referee warns McLean that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Trout throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! McLean has his hands clasped together but Trout breaks the hold and McLean is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Trout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mick Trout!
