Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Denilson Pires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Claymore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rusty Claymore will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Denilson Pires!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rusty Claymore!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Claymore gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pires to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Pires really is a fat lump.
Claymore being controlled here, momentarily.
Pires stands and throws Claymore's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Pires moves into full mount!
Pires takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Claymore can't escape the position.
Pires looking to control and managing it successfully.

Pires has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Claymore is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We're going to have a standup here because Denilson Pires wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Claymore misses with a two punch combination.

Pires forces Claymore back against the cage and clinches.
Pires is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Claymore gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Pires works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pires's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Denilson Pires has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Claymore closes the distance and pushes Pires back into the cage.
Pires drops down looking for an ankle pick but Claymore pulls his leg out and moves away.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Claymore.
Claymore lands a slapping body shot.
Pires is breathing heavily.

Claymore clinches.
Claymore wants to get back to striking at distance but Pires won't allow it.

Claymore breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Claymore lands a two punch combo.
Claymore connects with a high kick.
Claymore scores with a push kick.
Claymore comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Claymore goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Claymore lands a jab-cross combination.
Claymore thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Pires if he has to take too many more of those.
Pires takes one on the button.
Claymore is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Claymore lands with a kick to the temple. Pires shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Claymore listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Claymore throws a good cross that connects.
Pires shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Pires on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Claymore stalks Pires and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pires's face. Pires staggers backwards, shaken.
Claymore throws a head kick that half lands.

Claymore keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Pires bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here as Pires stalls from top position.
Pires seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Claymore for as long as he can get away with.
Pires works to advance to full mount. Claymore defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pires lands a big elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rusty Claymore dominated that round.
That's time! Pires's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Claymore lands a jab-cross combination.
Claymore scores with a shot to the body.
Pires shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Claymore pinned against the cage. Claymore gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Claymore has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Claymore lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Claymore throws a head kick but Pires moves out of range.
Denilson Pires is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Claymore closes the distance and pushes Pires back into the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Pires throws an elbow but misses.

Claymore breaks from the clinch.
Claymore is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pires.

Pires looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Claymore!
Pires can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Claymore is looking to escape.
Poor strikes thrown by Pires there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Claymore is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Claymore wants to get back to his feet.
Pires is in the full mount, landing strikes.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Claymore throws a front kick that sends Pires stumbling back into the cage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Claymore clinches up with Pires and pushes him back against the cage.
Pires goes for a takedown attempt but Claymore pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Claymore counters with a straight right hand.

Claymore scores with a head kick. Pires tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Claymore lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Claymore.

Claymore has closed the distance and engaged Pires in a clinch.
Claymore lands a nice knee to the body.

Claymore's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Claymore clinches up with Pires and pushes him back against the cage.

Claymore breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Claymore swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Claymore feints a jab promting Pires to slip. Claymore then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Pires slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Pires shoots in and gets a takedown into Claymore's guard.

Claymore can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pires controls the pace.
Pires's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Claymore is staying active underneath Pires, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Pires looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Pires trying to control the action but Claymore is working from the bottom.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Claymore wants to control but Pires is keeping busy.

I would just about give that final round to Rusty Claymore.
I think Claymore has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
