The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Balkonsky feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

BloodWing is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Balkonsky defends well.

BloodWing is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Balkonsky defends well.

Balkonsky got a little sloppy there for a moment and BloodWing has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Balkonsky has managed to get both his arms back between BloodWing's legs - danger averted.
BloodWing wants to sweep but no luck.

Balkonsky slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Balkonsky's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Balkonsky is trying to defend against the ground and pound but BloodWing scores with a couple of nice shots.

BloodWing is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Balkonsky is just riding it out for now. BloodWing eventually gives up the hold.

BloodWing is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Balkonsky looks calm but he's in trouble here. BloodWing gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm.
