Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martell Hennessey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Beast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Martell Hennessey!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hennessey closes the distance but Beast moves to the side
enabling Beast to counter with a crisp jab.

and Beast counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Beast lands a body shot.

Hennessey gets caught flat footed, as Beast shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hennessey is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Beast stands and throws Hennessey's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Beast with the ground and pound but Hennessey regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Beast takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Beast is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Hennessey still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Hennessey has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Hennessey stands up.

Hennessey moves into range and clinches up with Beast.

Hennessey throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Beast blocks it with crossed arms.
Hennessey connects with a nasty looking knee right to Beast's face.
Hennessey tries a knee to the head but Beast blocks it.
Beast wants a takedown.

Beast lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beast has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Beast sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hennessey defending well though.
Hennessey trying to hold on to Beast's head to control him but Beast postures up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hennessey keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Beast working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Beast misses with a head shot. Hennessey uses the momentum to regain guard.

Hennessey utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Beast throws a strike but Hennessey rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hennessey has gone for a leg lock! Beast slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hennessey's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Beast trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Beast's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Beast lands a really nice looking cross but Hennessey seems unphased.

Beast feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Beast stands up and waves to Hennessey to follow him.

Tony Beast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Martell Hennessey.

Beast gets the takedown into side control.
Beast creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hennessey sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Beast is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Beast goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hennessey rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Beast's guard! Nice work there by Hennessey!

Hennessey sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Beast doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Hennessey paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Beast - great work!
