Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brais Punk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Gucci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gucci lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Punk fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gucci tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Punk holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Gucci tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Punk manages to break the clinch.
Punk scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Punk decides to stand and escape the position.
Gucci has his takedown stuffed
and Punk counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gucci's guard now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Punk slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Punk decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Gucci throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Gucci lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Gucci misses with a takedown attempt
and Punk counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gucci won't be happy with that.
Brais Punk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Calvin Gucci.

Punk tries for a kimura but Gucci is defending well.
Gucci is looking to regain half guard here but Punk keeps moving and retains side control.

Punk is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gucci can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gucci holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Punk tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Punk cracks Gucci with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Punk throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Gucci because Punk loaded up on that one.
Gucci is trying to reverse the position but instead Punk has taken his back - oops!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Punk controlling the positon.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gucci gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Punk counters with a nice leg kick.
Punk lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Calvin Gucci has been cut.
Gucci moves to clinch but Punk breaks away
and Punk counters with a single leg into guard. Gucci didn't expect that.
Brais Punk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gucci is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Punk decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

so Punk counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Gucci wants to control the position but Punk says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Punk looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gucci is trying to maintain the position but Punk is very close to passing his half guard.

Punk gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Punk doesn't manage to clinch there - Gucci circles away.
Punk sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Punk takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Gucci throws a lazy head kick
so Punk counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Punk passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Gucci tries to bench press Punk off him but Punk keeps the position.
Gucci seems a little lost for a moment, as Punk dominates the positioning.

Punk misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gucci is trying to control Punk's posture but Punk avoids it.
Gucci is looking for a sweep.
Gucci takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Punk landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Gucci wants to control but Punk postures up.

Gucci really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Punk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee asks Punk politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Punk prefers to stall for the moment though.
Punk is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gucci can do to turn this around?
Gucci tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Punk slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Punk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gucci is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Punk.
