The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Piligracio.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Piligracio throws a strike aimed at the side of Gutierrez's head but Gutierrez avoids it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gutierrez is looking to regain half guard here but Piligracio keeps moving and retains side control.
Gutierrez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Gutierrez parries the strikes from Piligracio easily there. Piligracio is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gutierrez to escape.
Gutierrez manages to get back to half guard.
Piligracio blocks the strikes from Gutierrez.
Piligracio drops an elbow to the side of Gutierrez's head.

Piligracio is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gutierrez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Piligracio.

Piligracio is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gutierrez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Piligracio looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gutierrez seems to have recovered his senses.

Piligracio maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Gutierrez could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Piligracio has cracked it and Gutierrez is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Piligracio!
