Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Green looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Anderson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a combination that misses
and Green counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Silva tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Green cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Silva shoots and misses
and Green cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A bone on bone clash there as Green blocks the leg kick.
Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Green counters with a straight right hand.
Silva throws a leg kick
and Green counters with a stiff right hand.
Silva with a lazy takedown attempt
and Green counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Steve Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Silva.

Green closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Green controlling the pace.
Green has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Green escapes and gets back to his feet.
Silva misses with a right hand

and Green counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Green is breathing heavily.
Green passes into half guard.
Green trying to pass the guard but Silva defending well.

Green decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Green is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Green counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Green forces his way into half guard.
Silva has hold of Green's hands but Green slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Green stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Green darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Green decides to stand and escape the position.

Green feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, Green changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Green's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Green is in close to Silva's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Green connects with a couple of short punches.
Green passes into half guard.
Green keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Green working over Silva with some ground and pound. Silva looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Silva is defending against the submission attempts here by Green.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Green seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



The fight moves into the clinch position.

Green is trying to trip Silva. He has hold of a leg but Silva is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Green persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Green pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now.

Green decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Green throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Silva's head.
Green lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Green shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Silva taking some punishment here, with Green in his half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Green looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Silva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Green really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Green working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Silva tries to get to full guard but Green has control of the leg.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Steve Green wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Green changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Green stands up and beckons Silva to his feet.

Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Green to score an easy takedown into full guard.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Green sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Silva's guard.
Green keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Green seems to be looking for submissions.

Green gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Green dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Green moves into range and clinches up with Silva.
Silva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Green walks away with a smile on his face. Silva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Green closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Green turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Silva stops Green from passing to mount.
Green remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Green works to advance to full mount. Silva defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Green looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Green with shots to the head and body - Silva looks very uncomfortable down there.
Green tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Green stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Green feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Steve Green overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Silva wants to get back to his feet but Green is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Steve Green.

Green is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Silva's half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Green gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

And that's the end of the fight!
Steve Green showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Green has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
