Watson has chosen Sick Puppies - You're Going Down as his entrance music. Joseph Watson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Watson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watson tries to clinch there but Barksdale circles away.
Watson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Barksdale gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Barksdale wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Watson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Barksdale wants to get back to striking at distance but Watson won't allow it.
Watson has had enough of the clinch but Barksdale keeps him there for the moment.
Barksdale lands with a left to the head.
Watson wants to break free but Barksdale has control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Watson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Watson lands a nice hook to Barksdale's body. Barksdale takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Barksdale fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A bone on bone clash there as Barksdale blocks the leg kick.

Barksdale pushes Watson up against the cage in a clinch.
Watson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Barksdale jumps guard but Watson stands there with Barksdale around his waist. Barksdale gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Watson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Watson wants a takedown.
Barksdale blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Barksdale wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Watson throws a knee to the head but misses.
Barksdale wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Barksdale can't break the clinch.
Watson has had enough of the clinch but Barksdale keeps him there for the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Barksdale turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Barksdale manages to end up in side control.
Watson is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Barksdale is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Barksdale postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Watson looks a forlorn figure.

Watson is bucking up trying to escape but Barksdale cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Barksdale is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Watson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Watson wants to hold on but Barksdale pushes him away.
Watson tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barksdale raining down shots from the mount!
Barksdale avoids the attempt from Watson to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barksdale has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Watson's face.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Watson wants to hold on but Barksdale pushes him away.
Watson is trying desperately to improve position.
Barksdale lands a nice shot to the head.
Watson tries to hold on but Barksdale postures up.

Watson has left one of his arms exposed and Barksdale doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Watson screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
