PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ultimate Warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Acton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Warrior has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ultimate Warrior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Acton!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Warrior looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Acton darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Acton decides to stand and escape the position.

Warrior gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Acton trying to control but Warrior is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Acton wants to stand but Warrior has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Acton wants to control from the top but Warrior keeps moving.
Acton would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Acton is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Acton wants to stand but Warrior has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Acton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Acton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Warrior is looking to escape.
Warrior tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Warrior is working hard here to advance position.

Acton tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Acton is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Warrior has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Warrior!
Warrior is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Warrior won't allow Acton to sweep him here.
Warrior prevents Acton from getting back to his feet.
Warrior not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Acton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Warrior doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Warrior manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Acton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Warrior can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Warrior with a lazy takedown attempt

and Acton counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Acton is working for a kimura but Warrior is defending it quite comfortably.
Acton tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Warrior.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Acton is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Warrior can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Acton stands up from mount. Strange move.
Acton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Warrior tries to avoid it but Acton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Warrior to the ground. Warrior escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Warrior on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Warrior tries to get out of the position.

Acton is looking for a kimura but Warrior is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Acton to get the leverage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Frank Acton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Warrior is refusing to be controlled, as Acton sits in half guard.
Warrior is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Acton's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Acton's back!

Ultimate Warrior showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Acton has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
