PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Fitts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Morton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fitts kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Alice In Chains - No Excuses. Morton is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rock N Roll-Led Zeppelin. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitts falls off balance throwing a combination
and Morton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fitts throws a front kick that sends Morton stumbling back into the cage.

Morton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Morton tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Fitts is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Morton working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Morton is trying to get an arm triangle but Fitts is defending well.

Morton is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fitts has escaped the position, nice work there.

Morton takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Fitts knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Morton on the ground.

Morton wants to control but Fitts is keeping him busy.
Morton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Morton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fitts is just riding it out for now. Morton eventually gives up the hold.

Morton is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Fitts throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Fitts moves away from the strike by Morton.

Fitts will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Morton just misses with a punch to the body.
Fitts scores with a head kick. Morton tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morton dives in and grabs Fitts's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fitts pushes down on Morton's head and hops out.

Morton shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Fitts napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Morton loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Fitts scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Morton land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Morton stands and salutes the crowd.
