The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mourke throws a leg kick but Werdum sees it coming and moves out of range.
Werdum swings widly with a right hand
and Mourke counters with a series of strikes. Werdum will be more careful next time no doubt.
Mourke shoots in for a double leg but Werdum sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Werdum jabs Mourke right on the nose. Mourke blinks but takes it well.
Mourke shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Werdum sprawls well. Werdum wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mourke gets slowly back to his feet.
Werdum throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mourke stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Werdum misses with the combination.

Werdum catches Mourke napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Mourke to the canvas!

Mourke is rocked!

It looks like Ricky Mourke has been cut.
Werdum gets to his feet and stands over Mourke, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Mourke felt that one! Werdum unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Mourke from any more punishment!
