Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nate Kyzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bertrand Escher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kyzer's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, All of the Lights. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bertrand Escher!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escher throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kyzer. Escher does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kyzer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Escher ducks under a wild hook from Kyzer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kyzer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

The fighters circle momentarily. Kyzer darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Escher misses with a few strikes there.
Escher ducks under a wild hook from Kyzer.

and Escher decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kyzer's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kyzer is on top in guard.

Escher shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kyzer as he jumps to the side.

Kyzer fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Escher is out of range.
Kyzer throws the left hand but Escher avoids the punch easily.

Escher takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

so Escher counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Escher trying to control the position from guard on top but Kyzer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kyzer lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Escher!
Escher wants to hold on but Kyzer pushes him away.

Kyzer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Escher is looking to escape.
Escher is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Escher blocking the ground and pound.
Kyzer thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Kyzer jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Escher is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Escher and Kyzer has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Escher regains half guard there - taking advantage of Kyzer's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
