Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drake Vonstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlay Zilva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vonstein comes to the cage accompanied by Seether - Remedy. Zilva has chosen Darude's Sandstorm as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Drake Vonstein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Wanderlay Zilva!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zilva doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Vonstein counters with a straight right hand.

Vonstein shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zilva manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Zilva seems keen to control Vonstein's posture.
Vonstein with a flurry of punches that miss.
Vonstein is looking to work some ground and pound but Zilva has wrist control.
Vonstein trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vonstein trying to control but Zilva is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zilva tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Zilva working a defensive guard here.
Vonstein throwing strikes from guard but Zilva blocks nicely.
Zilva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Vonstein has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Vonstein pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zilva is keeping the position for now.
Zilva tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Zilva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vonstein's guard.

Vonstein is looking for a triangle but Zilva pushes his legs off easily.

Vonstein had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Zilva defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zilva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vonstein swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Zilva pushing down on Vonstein's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Zilva is looking to advance position but Vonstein won't allow it.

Vonstein actively working from the bottom here.
Zilva prevents Vonstein from improving his position.
Zilva works his foot free and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vonstein tries to reverse the position but Zilva maintains control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Zilva moves to back control.
Vonstein rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Zilva moves nicely into side control.
Vonstein is trying to improve his position.
Zilva trying to control the action but Vonstein is working from the bottom.
Zilva tries to move to mount but Vonstein blocks the move with his legs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vonstein manages to get back to half guard.
Vonstein wants to improve his position but Zilva is controlling well.
Zilva works his foot free and advances to mount.
Zilva trying to control but Vonstein is having none of it.
Zilva fails to advance to Vonstein's back.
Zilva wants to control the pace but Vonstein is squirming around nicely.
Vonstein is desperately trying to improve his position but Zilva has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Wanderlay Zilva will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Vonstein gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Zilva counters with a single leg into guard. Vonstein didn't expect that.
Vonstein wants to sweep here but Zilva controlling him for the moment.
Zilva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Zilva is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Vonstein has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Zilva is looking to defend but Vonstein has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Zilva! Vonstein pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Zilva taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Drake Vonstein!
