PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between ZK Drana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elvaka Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, ZK Drana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Elvaka Drago!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drana throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Drana shoots in but no luck this time.

Drana throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Drago tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Drana is in Drago's guard.
Drago throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Drana is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Drago tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Drago is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Drana showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Drago lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Drana!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Drago looking to finish with strikes here!

Drago unloads with some shots from mount but Drana bucks and avoids them well.
Drago avoids the attempt from Drana to control.
Drago wants to control the pace but Drana is squirming around nicely.
Drana on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Drana tries to get out of the position.
Drago in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Drago thowing shots but they're missing.
Drana is trying to escape the mount.
Drana is squirming around, avoiding Drago's attempts to control the action.
Drago is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Drago thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Drago tries to control but Drana wriggling away.
Drana can't escape the position.
Poor strikes thrown by Drago there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Drana wants to control but Drago is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Drana tries to reverse the position but Drago maintains control.
Drago trying to control but Drana is having none of it.
Drana is looking to improve his position but Drago isn't that keen on the idea.
Drago punishing his opponent with strikes.
Drago tries to control but Drana wriggling away.
Drago might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Drana kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Drago throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Drana because Drago loaded up on that one.

Drago controlling from mount.
Drana tries to hold on but Drago pushes him away.
Drana knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Drago on the ground.
Drago tries to control but Drana wriggling away.

Drago can't control as he wanted to and Drana manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Drana is looking for a sweep. Drago is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Elvaka Drago dominated that round.
That's time! Drana's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Drana changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Drago looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Drago gets back to half guard.
Drago trying to hold on to Drana's head to control him but Drana postures up.

Drago manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Drana doesn't manage to clinch there - Drago circles away.
Drana takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Drago throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Drago shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Drago is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Drana can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Drana tries to hold on but Drago postures up.

Drago trying to control but Drana is having none of it.
Drago throwing strikes here but Drana is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Drana is trying to reverse the position but instead Drago has taken his back - oops!
Well, with Drago on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Drana is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Drana is trying to break free.
Drago is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Drana might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Drana tries to escape but Drago has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Drago thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Drana is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Drago working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Drana is doing well to defend. Drago seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Drana is forced to tap and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Elvaka Drago!
