Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Gorodetsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Lenin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Victor Lenin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Gorodetsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Lenin!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lenin misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gorodetsky fails in his attempt to clinch.

Gorodetsky throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lenin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gorodetsky is in Lenin's guard.
Gorodetsky might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Lenin is trying to control the position but Gorodetsky postures up.
Gorodetsky postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Gorodetsky shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lenin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Lenin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gorodetsky wants to control from the top but Lenin keeps moving.

Vladimir Gorodetsky has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Gorodetsky chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lenin can pounce on him.

Gorodetsky clinches up with Lenin and pushes him back against the ropes.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Lenin is trying to break the clinch but Gorodetsky has him pressed against the ropes.

Gorodetsky breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gorodetsky closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gorodetsky lands in his opponent's guard.
Gorodetsky passes Lenin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Lenin tries to get to full guard but Gorodetsky has control of the leg.
Lenin wants to get back to full guard but Gorodetsky has passed into side control.

Lenin is trying to control Gorodetsky's posture but Gorodetsky avoids it.
Gorodetsky tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Lenin is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Gorodetsky gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Gorodetsky jumps guard but Lenin stands there with Gorodetsky around his waist. Gorodetsky gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lenin wants to break the clinch but can't.

Lenin tries to free his leg and advance position but Gorodetsky is retaining full guard.
Lenin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gorodetsky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gorodetsky has Lenin pulled in close to control his posture.
Gorodetsky wants to stand and escape but Lenin is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lenin closes the distance and pushes Gorodetsky back into the ropes.
Lenin wants to break free but Gorodetsky has control.
Gorodetsky tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lenin smiles and moves away.
Lenin slaps away a takedown attempt from Gorodetsky, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Gorodetsky. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lenin doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Gorodetsky counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lenin's guard now.

Gorodetsky shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lenin's guard.

Gorodetsky slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lenin wants to stand up but Gorodetsky is controlling him.

We're going to have a standup here because Vladimir Gorodetsky wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Lenin feints a jab promting Gorodetsky to slip. Lenin then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gorodetsky slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lenin throws a right and a left that both miss.


It looks like Vladimir Gorodetsky has been cut.
Lenin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gorodetsky moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gorodetsky shoots in looking for a takedown but Lenin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gorodetsky's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Gorodetsky takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Gorodetsky moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Lenin.
Lenin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lenin seems a little lost for a moment, as Gorodetsky dominates the positioning.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Vladimir Gorodetsky.

Gorodetsky has closed the distance and engaged Lenin in a clinch.
Lenin is trying to force a seperation but Gorodetsky has the dominant position.

Lenin breaks the clinch.

Gorodetsky shoots in and bounces Lenin off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Gorodetsky wants to control from the top but Lenin keeps moving.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gorodetsky, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
