Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Movado Kenshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Launston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Launston will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Movado Kenshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, David Launston!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Launston gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Kenshi counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Launston's guard now.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Launston is on top in guard.
Launston showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Launston preventing the sweep.
Launston slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

It looks like Launston might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. David Launston was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Launston fails with the takedown

and Kenshi counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Launston's guard now.
Launston is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Launston controlling the pace.
Launston's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Launston is just content to waste time from the top position. Kenshi takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Movado Kenshi will probably get the nod.

Kenshi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Launston manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kenshi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Launston swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kenshi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kenshi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Launston trying to keep a closed guard but Kenshi is proving a slippery customer.
Movado Kenshi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kenshi wants to stand but Launston is controlling the position.

and Kenshi counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Kenshi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Launston moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Launston can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kenshi is looking to escape.
Kenshi is looking to improve his position but Launston isn't that keen on the idea.

Kenshi is squirming around, avoiding Launston's attempts to control the action.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. David Launston wasn't active enough on the ground.
Kenshi wants to clinch.

Launston is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Kenshi has knee on belly momentarily but Launston bucks him off and regains half guard.
Kenshi lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Launston is looking for a sweep. Kenshi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kenshi lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Kenshi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Launston is defending against the submission attempts here by Kenshi.

And that's the end of the fight!
Movado Kenshi showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kenshi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
